Not a southern gal...but, I lived in Georgia and became addicted to grits!
Yumm....grits are awesome..we eat them all the time...lol...
I'm a grits lover as well. When I was younger my dad took me fishing in Florida where I experienced the awesomeness of grits.

I love me some grits! I remember going to Boston and trying to order them for breakfast at a restaurant there. I was about 15 at the time and had no idea that grits were a southern thing. lol
