Let's talk beauty....Specifically...False Eyelashes
Okay..hubby and I are going away for tomorrow night...and on our date nights, I totally like to glam it up...I love the look that these give...
the only problem....I have tried and tried to put them on....and I just can't do it...they end up crooked, not even along the lash line, or they just don't stick on one corner or the other..
So, the question I have is...are there any of you out there that use these occasionally, have you ever used them and what techniques do you have?

YES!!! I loves me some fake lashes!
Okay, the first thing is, you need to trim them. They are probably too wide. Hold the lash up to the inside corner of your eye, then tightly along your lash line. cut off whatever hangs past the outside corner of your eye. Then you also want to trim the actual lashes so they taper at the corners.
now you are ready to apply. before you put them on, put a layer of black eye liner on your top lash line. this way if you dont get them perfectly lined up, you wont see a gap.
put the glue on the fake lashes and let it set for about 15 seconds so it gets a little tacky. make sure the glue goes all the way to the end of the rubber part (whatever its called) so the corners will stick. then place the lashes as close to your lash line as possible, starting at the inside corner and working over.
you can still adjust, using a sharp fingernail, or even a toothpick or q-tip w/ the cotton pulled off. get the fake lashes as close to your own. if the corners are NOT sticking, pull the lashes up a bit, and put some glue on a q-tip them reapply it to the lash and stick it back down.
after the lashes are on, use an eyelash curler to crimp them to your own, and then put on mascara to glue them all together.
that should work.
also, when you are done for the night, take them off and clean them gently w/ soap and water or eye make up remover. you can use them again and again. I bought a $3 pair 5 years ago and use them frequently!
practice practice practice and pretty soon it will be fast and you wont even be able to tell you're wearing them!
Wow, Steph..thanks for the great tips....I never thought about trimming or using a q tip on them to help push them down...and letting the glue set for 15 or so seconds...awesome....I am so going to try again...I have only got them on right once, the first time...and I have never been able to do it again..they are usually poking me in the corner of my eye or something and I have to take them off....thanks for taking the time to give me some good tips!
WOW Steph gave a great detailed lesson on lashes--I've always wanted to try them!!
I can't do the full lashes, but I do the ones that are little sections. I just put one on the outer part of each of my lids. It blends in nicely, but still gives a little oomph.
Wow! Steph gave an awesome lesson on these! I've always wanted to try 'em but figured I'd screw 'em up! LOL
I like fairytales idea too! :)
Haven't worn them since I was in the drama club in high school - and "Doug" was the one who put them on me. LOL I never could do it. I think steph gave some awesome advice.
I have neorn these before. Be interested to hear how it goes. I don't think I'd be able to get them on right and I know I'd be worried all night that they would fall off!
No problem! :) Did you end up wearing them? How did it work out?
I didn't quite get them right....the right eye went on perfect, but the left gooped up, looked terrible, one corner wouldn't stay..so, I had to take them off...try and try again, eventually I am sure to get them right. Your tips were great Steph!
