Missing In Action.....so to speak....so....get your gripe out!

Good Morning, my bloggling lovelies.....just a quick moment to say I am ok..sorry for the zero posts over the last few days....I took a vacation day from work on Friday and Hubster and I went away for the weekend....I didn't get home until late last night.

Back to work today.....it's Monday...I am tired...what more is there to say?

Except...it's get your gripe out Monday....what is pissing you off today? What ticked you off over the weekend? Tell little ol' Dixie all about it.....

My gripe is pretty lame today...it's Monday...I don't want to be here....nuff said. Also, comments....where are all you people lately? I see the hits...I see you...just say hi...tell me what you like or don't like about Dixies' place here....I want to hear it all....

On a lighter note....tonight is the premiere of Dancing With The Stars....

Fans may grow tired of seeing minor celebs

Reality TV fans had March 17 circled on their calendars months ago. And it had nothing to do with being green. No, Monday night is the premiere of "Dancing With the Stars" (7 p.m. WLS-Channel 7). Hurray!

So why are fans not so excited anymore?

A barre has been drawn in the sand. On one side, the diehard "Dancing" fans who breathlessly await the two-hour premiere. On the other, the diehard "Dancing" fans who have filled Internet chat rooms and blogs with cries of "Who are these people?"

As diehards will tell you, "Dancing" was always about Hollywood's C-listers, those celebs of yesteryear, with a few current hotties thrown in for younger viewers. And it worked. Sure, for every Drew Lachey, there was a George Hamilton. For every Sabrina Bryan, there was a Leeza Gibbons. That's part of the reason millions of viewers tuned in every week to this top-rated show (second only to "American Idol" last season). Most of the stars saw "Dancing" as a way to spark their careers big time (Mario Lopez, a prime example), and we rooted for the underdog ever dance step of the way.

Season six, however, is proving to be the straw that might break some viewers' backs. With its 12 contestants plucked from the very core of obscurity, who will save the day?

The rules have been slightly altered this year; most notably, two contestants will be drummed out of the dance corps March 25 in a double-elimination round.

To help you navigate the sea of semicelebs, here's a guide to the new crop of mirror ball trophy seekers.

Adam Carolla (partnered with Julianne Hough). The L.A. radio show host and comedian (formerly of "The Man Show") is best-known for well, being on the radio in L.A. He's one step ahead of the pack, thanks to Hough, last year's sizzling champ. He should be outta there in the first few weeks.

Cristian de la Fuente (partnered with Cheryl Burke). The Chilean is this year's male hottie (People magazine named him one of its "50 Most Beautiful People"). De la Fuente might hang in there for several weeks, though the "hottie" label didn't work so well last season for Adam Reed.

Shannon Elizabeth (partnered with Derek Hough). Every season needs its sex kitten, and so it goes with the actress known for her roles in "American Pie" and "Scary Movie." Plus, her professional poker prowess should usher in a whole new fan base of voters. She's got the legs, Hough's got the talent; count on the pair to hang in there till at least midseason (unless she's a complete dancing dolt on Monday night).

Steve Guttenberg (partnered with Anna Trebunskaya). Can you say "Cocoon"? "Three Men and a Baby"? "Police Academy"? Were you even around for the '80s? If not, you missed out on Guttenberg's film career. And then the '90s came and his film career went. Sorry, but Guttenberg doesn't have the kitsch factor of a George Hamilton (nor George's fan base). He's outta there Tuesday.

Mario (partnered with Karina Smirnoff). The sexy R&B singer might be the surprise of the season. The feisty Smirnoff (who partnered with the show's previous Mario) and he seem like a great match. Look for this twosome in the finals.

Marlee Matlin (partnered with Fabian Sanchez). Both celeb and pro are novices to "Dancing," which could be good and bad. All the buzz has been about Matlin's deafness and her inability to hear the music. Get over it. In published interviews, Sanchez said he has altered their dances slightly so that Matlin maintains much more visible contact with him throughout their routines. Matlin should make it through to the finals.

Penn Jillette (partnered with Kym Johnson). This season's Master P. Unless he can conjure millions of votes, consider him in the bottom tier Monday night. Sorry, Kym.

Priscilla Presley (partnered with Louis van Amstel). The ghoulish-looking Presley (what is with all that porcelain pancake on her face?) is former wife TO Elvis, mother TO Lisa Marie, got TO go girl. The Presley fan base could keep her in play for weeks, or they could send her packing, preferring to remember her as the gorgeous 'Cilla, rather than the Morticia she has become.

Monica Seles (partnered with Jonathan Roberts). Roberts had his hands full with Marie Osmond last season, so hopefully Seles will be a quiet respite for him. Literally quiet. Honestly, what is her fan base (or viewership draw) these days? She might well be the first female to hit the road this season, unless Presley beats her to it.

Jason Taylor (partnered with Edyta Sliwinska). This may be the best-looking pair on the dance floor in the show's history. The always nearly naked Sliwinska has a huge fan base, so look to this duo to hang around for many weeks.

Marissa Jaret Winokur (partnered with Tony Dovolani). The Tony-winning actress ("Hairspray") is no stranger to dancing (albeit a different kind of dancing). Dovolani has not had a great track record on "Dancing" -- former partners included Leeza Gibbons and divorce drama queen Sara Evans.

Kristi Yamaguchi (partnered with Mark Ballas). Figure skating choreography starts in the dance studio, which could make Yamaguchi the female to beat this season. Look for this duo to make it through to the finals.

Tune in tonight....hopefully, it will be just as exciting as last season.
