What a great weekend!

Monday already..yuck! I so didn't want to get up and come to work today....but, I am here...it sucks already. Our coffee machine is broken..and I am about to die for a cup of coffee....I am trying to figure out a way to slip out of here and run up to the Village Pantry and get a cup...this is so going to be a long morning...(sigh)....

On a happier note....Hubby and I had a terrific weekend!

Friday night, he picked me up from work and we went to the gym together...he enjoyed the pool and the hot tub, while I worked my little butt off! But, after my workout I joined him in the hot tub and we swam for a little while..it was nice. Later Friday night our friend Michelle came over and spent the night with us...because we went to NashVegas Saturday and she came along with us. For all of you that don't know what I am referring to...Nashville, TN.....We had planned on leaving super early, but we stayed up late Friday night, (like 2 A.M) watching The Notebook...she had never seen it,it was raining, so our satelitte was out....The Notebook is one of my all time favortie movies...every time I watch it, I end up bawling like a baby...and, I do believe Michelle shed a few tears too...anyway, we didn't get up dressed and out of the house on Saturday until just a little after 9 a.m....

On the way, we were amazed at how cheap gas had gotten...I don't buy it, hubby always keeps the car full for me...but, when I seen this sign, I just had to take a picture and document it here on my little ol' blog...

I think this was somewhere just before we got to Kentucky....$2.33 a gallon...almost $2 less than what we have been paying for so long..Awesome!

We got to Nashville around 3:30 p.m....I got to meet my first blogger! Yay! I immediately called Flat, to see when we could meet up....her guy was sleeping, so we agreed to meet in an hour and a half..so, we went to the mall...my poor girl Michelle needed a new pair of shoes, as the pair she had just bought, at Shoe Carnival...were missized..well, not actually missized..she didn't know when she bought them, that the shoes were both left feet...lol...poor girl! So, we went shoe shopping! Yay! I got a really cute sexy pair and she got a cute pair as well...Hubby also made friends with the mall wildlife...LOL...look at how freaking huge this teddy bear was...that darn thing wouldn't even fit in little Max's room, it is bigger then the poor kids room itself!

Around 4 P.M. (Nashville time), We met up with Flat and Bat...they were great! I swear...she is more beautiful and charming in person than I could have thought possible...I probably made a fool out of myself, because I never shut the hell up! She is so cute and her accent...to die for! I forget, after living in Indiana so long, how Southern I don't sound anymore....I miss my accent! We met up at TGI Fridays, had a drink, shared an appetizer....I would have loved to have visited with them more, but they had a Hockey game to go to...and we still had to check into our hotel, get ready for our night out...so, unfortunately, after about an hour, we had to part ways! But, I am so looking forward to meeting up with you again Flat! You guys were awesome!
Here is a picture of us at the bar (TGI Fridays)...

Yikes! My hair looks horrible....keep in mind, we had been in the car for almost 7 hours...I was a little worse for wear....if that isn't the case, then me and my hairdresser? We need to have a serious talk...Isn't Flat gorgeous....I am so jealous of her hair....also, bad, bad camera angle!

I don't know what I was thinking...I should have taken a picture of Flat and Bat together..but, I was seriously having such a girl crush on Flat...I kind of didn't acknowledge Bat too much...poor guy just sat quitely at the end of the bar, listening to us hens cackle....Sorry Bat! I did enjoy meeting you too!

Here is a picture of my friend Michelle and myself...

Keith and Michelle...

We had a great time..but, all too soon, we had to say goodbye To Flat and Bat..and get to our hotel, check in and start getting ready....since the club we were going to opened at 8 p.m...and hubby is a stickler for being places early....

Before heading to the hotel...we had to stop by Kroger for a few things, and thanks to Flat giving us the heads up, that no store, be it WalMart, Grocery stores, etc...carried alchohol..most notably...wine....so, we also had to stop by a liquor store...because the club we were going to, you had to bring your own bottle, of whatever you choose to drink. Michelle is not much of a drinker..so I tried to pick a nice fruity wine for her and Keith to share and Mama here got herself a nice bottle of Chardonnay...(it was so very good)....

On the way to the hotel, we got turned around...missed our exit and had to back track...hubby had forgotten to take his medicine and was beginning to get a little agitated....(he is on medicine for his thyroid-or I should say lack of one..he had to have it removed last year-and also for his blood pressure)...so, he was beginning to experience a little anxiety...as we got to our hotel...there was some kind of huge wreck or chemical spill, all I know was it made it very difficult for us to get into our hotel..there were 7-8 police cars, fire trucks...all we could see was the semi-truck..no other car....

Ok..the pictures aren't the best...you can't see too much..but, trust me...it was a mess! (A photographer, especially from a car, I am not....don't judge)....

We finally made it to the hotel, checked in, hubby went to his room, Michelle and I went to ours, to start getting ready....after a couple hours, here are the finished results....

(Wow....either we don't know how to take pictures..bad angles, etc...or as I said, My hairstylist and I need to seriously reshape things..my hair is supposed to angle down, evenly on both sides, I swear, when styling it, I did....why does is look so funky?....oh well)

We got to the club, Menage's, around 8:30...and the place was dead! Hardly any people there...we held out hope that things would pick up..but, it never did....we had a good time, but, it just wasn't the right crowd of people for us....I did get hubby a little tipsy and Michelle had several glasses of wine....we were relaxed and we enjoyed each other's company very much.
We got back to our room, after a late night snack from Mickey D's..oh, around 3 a.m...I went to hubby's room for a while...getting back to my room around 4:30 a.m..and I died..literally, only to wake up a couple hours later, unable to sleep...damned alchohol....we were all up and on the road by 10 a.m....after a stop for coffee, of course. I wasn't hung over....just tired, not feeling 100% my best....I had only had about six hours sleep in two days....I realize..I am getting too old for this crap! LOL....

We had a great time on the way home...hubby is quite entertaining...especially when going through the fast food drive throughs...he likes to mess with the people that work the drive thru windows...it is hilarious..he had Michelle and I laughing so hard we were in tears...literally. It was great!

Hubby battles narcolepsy really bad, so we often switch off, he drives for a while and I have to watch him closely, to keep him awake and focused..but sometimes, he has to quit being such a "man" and give the wheel of the car over to me...so, at one point, once we reached Kentucky...we had to exit off and pull over to switch...we pulled over right by this sign, and for some reason, we found it hilarious....

The sign at the top said Prohibited....we were laughing hysterically...especially about the animals on foot....What were the poor animals supposed to do...rent a car, or get ticketed? Funny, huh? Only in Kentucky....(nothing against Kentucky, mind you or the people that live there...just thought it was funny.)

My girl Michelle is having a really hard time..she is the most wonderful Mom, to five little kids and very seldom does she get a weekend to herself...she had to force her ex to take the kids and before we were even out of Indianapolis, within and hour from being home...her ex's Mom called and got her so upset, telling her she needed to get the kids right then! Dead beat dad's piss me off and I so wanted to go with her to get them and give them a peace of my mind...hubby works with her, that's how we met...and he told me that she did have to go pick them up, but she did let them all...the ex, his parent's have it! Good for you girl! I don't like to see them walk all over her...makes me furious! She deserves to have a life, some time to herself once in awhile...it makes a woman a better mother!

All in all, it was a great weekend! Just way too short.....Thanks again, Flat...for taking the time to meet up with us...I hope we can do it again on our next trip down.

So, how was your weekend?

Nice post. I'm glad you had fun in Nashville. One day, I'll have to meet Flat and Bat. Their blogs are always a gas.

As for the traffic in the picture, I think I heard about that. I work at a hotel very close to there and apparently a motorcycle and a large truck collided. Pretty tragic from what I hear.

Anyway, your pictures are wonderful. Let me know next time you come to town and I'll see if I can get you a good rate at my place.

We probably won't be down to Nashville again for a while...we are coming through next month, on the way to SC to visit my family, but I doubt we will have time to stop over in Nashville, so...it will probably be after Christmas..but, I will email you...still blissfully wed, right?
Have a great Monday!

Don't be so hard on yourself, Donna, You Looked GREAT! (for anyone who don't get to see her regularly, she always looks perfect) You'd never catch her wearing a "go ugly early" outfit.

I'm glad you had fun!

I just wanted to say that I still read, daily, but these Internet blocks usually don't let me comment. AND somtimes when I can get to the comments for some reason your blog shuts down the whole Internet on my work computer.

So, just know that I'm here, even though you can't see me!
